Michael Deggendorf, Senior Vice President, Delivery, Great Plains Energy

Michael DeggendorfMr. Deggendorf oversees Distribution and Transmission Operations, Customer Services, Energy Solutions and Transmission Policy and Compliance with specific responsibilities for regulatory compliance with FERC and NERC rules and regulations. He has more than 23 years of experience in the energy and telecommunications industries with positions ranging from operations and marketing to regulatory and governmental affairs.

Mr. Deggendorf joined KCP&L in 2002 and has had responsibility for sales and marketing, and public affairs.

At UtiliCorp (which became Aquila Networks), he served as Vice President of Market Services. He led the sales and marketing efforts for regulated and non-regulated products and services, including competitive retail and appliance services in UtiliCorp's regulated service area.

In 2000, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Everest Connections, a voice, video, data communications over-builder targeting the Midwest, where he headed sales, marketing, regulatory and communication functions.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Iowa State University, completed graduate work at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and University of Iowa, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.

An active member of the community, Mr. Deggendorf serves on numerous boards including the Missouri Chamber of Commerce; the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City; GKC Local Initiatives Support Corporation; the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce; Clay County Economic Development Commission; Kansas City Sports Commission and Downtown Council Vice Chair. He was also appointed by Governor Matt Blunt to chair Missouri's Workforce Development Board. He is a past Board Member of the Midwest Energy Association and Committee Member with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
