Duane Anstaett, Vice President, Generation, KCP&L
As vice president of Generation, Duane Anstaett leads KCP&L's generation organization, including generation strategy and engineering; plant operations and maintenance; wholesale marketing and trading; plant dispatching; and long-term resource planning.
He has three decades of experience in the electric industry, encompassing engineering, construction, system operations, reliability programs, contract management, and the customer service contact center and meter to cash processes.
During his KCP&L career, Mr. Anstaett has held numerous positions, including vice president of Delivery; Distribution engineer; Reliability Programs & Standards Engineering supervisor; Distribution System Operations manager; Contract Management manager; and Resource Management director.
He also spent five years at PAR Electric, where he served as senior vice president, operations, for the eastern half of the United States, and a little over one year as Utility Services manager for Black & McDonald.
A registered professional engineer in Missouri, Mr. Anstaett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from the University of Kansas. He also has completed work toward a doctorate in organization and leadership through the University of Phoenix.
Previously, Mr. Anstaett served on Bridging the Gap’s Heartland Tree Alliance Advisory Council, as well as Missouri One Call’s board of directors, which also included a role on its executive committee. Currently he serves on the board of directors for Boy Scouts of America and the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission.
