Michael Cline is responsible for all financing and investing activities, cash management, leasing, investor, bank, and rating agency relations, and corporate budgeting and financial forecasting and planning activities.
Mr. Cline has more than 20 years of corporate finance, treasury and risk management experience and held positions of increasing responsibility at Caterpillar Inc., Sara Lee Corporation, Sprint and Corning Inc. before joining GPE as Director, Corporate Finance, in 2001. He was promoted to Assistant Treasurer in 2002 and, during 2004, was temporarily re-assigned to lead GPE’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiative. He was promoted to Treasurer and Chief Risk Officer in 2005 and assumed his current responsibilities in February 2008.
Mr. Cline earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, summa cum laude, from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., and a master’s in Business Administration from Illinois State University in Normal-Bloomington. He serves on the board and is chairman of the investments committee of Kansas City Young Audiences, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing arts education and training to children in the Kansas City area. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and the National Investor Relations Institute.
