Mark English, Asst. General Counsel and Asst. Secretary, Great Plains Energy

Mr. English joined Kansas City Power & Light’s Law Department in 1981 following private practice at a Minnesota law firm. He held various positions in the KCP&L Law Department until 1995, when he was appointed Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of KLT Inc., a subsidiary of KCP&L.

In 2001, Mr. English transferred to KCP&L as Corporate Counsel. He was promoted to Assistant Secretary of Great Plains Energy (GPE) and KCP&L in 2002, and was elected GPE General Counsel in 2005.

Mr. English holds Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals.
