Mr. Ernst is the former Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of H&R Block, Inc., a global provider of tax preparation, investment, mortgage and accounting services. Prior to his election as Chairman of the Board in 2002, Mr. Ernst was Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Ernst served on the Executive, Audit and Compensation and Development Committees during 2006.
He holds an MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago, and an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Drake University.
