Great Plains Energy is committed to the principles of corporate governance. Great Plains Energy's business, property and affairs are managed under the direction of the Board of Directors. Directors are kept informed of Great Plains Energy's business through written reports and documents routinely provided to them. In addition, directors receive operating, financial and progress reports presented by the Chairman and officers of Great Plains Energy at Board and committee meetings.
In May 2005, Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), the leading provider of proxy voting and corporate governance services, ranked Great Plains Energy's corporate governance practices as outperforming 96.2% of the companies in the S&P 400 and 90.1% of the companies in the utility group. Great Plains is proud of this strong rating which reflects our commitment to corporate governance.
