John Marshall, Executive Vice President, Utility Operations, KCP&L
Mr. Marshall joined KCP&L in May 2005. In his current role, he focuses on leading the operational functions of the core utility towards Tier 1 performance in safety, operations, customer service and driving continuous improvement through innovation and process efficiency as well as oversight for regulatory compliance with FERC and NERC rules, standards and requirements. He is also a member of Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Company’s Board of Directors and Operations Committee.
Before joining KCP&L, Mr. Marshall was a Senior Executive Resource for GFI Energy Ventures LLC; Chairman of InfraSource Services Inc.; Chairman of SPL World Group Inc.; Director of Genscape, Inc.; and Director of Power Measurement Holdings, Inc.
From 2001 to 2002, he was Senior Vice President of Customer Service at the Tennessee Valley Authority, and from 1999 to 2001, he served as President of Duquesne Light Company, Pittsburgh, Pa. Prior to joining Duquesne Light, he was Vice President of Entergy Corporation and served in various nuclear and fossil generation, transmission, distribution, customer service, information services and retail operations positions from 1976 to 1999.
Mr. Marshall received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
He is a Board member of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce; the Kansas City Zoo; the Genesis School; and the Truman Medical Center.
