David Campbell joined Evergy in January 2021 as President and CEO. Under Campbell’s leadership, Evergy focuses on providing safe, affordable, and reliable service to its 1.7 million electric customers in Kansas and Missouri. The company’s corporate initiatives and capital investments target an enhanced customer experience, grid modernization, improved reliability and resiliency, cost competitiveness, and the ongoing transition of the company’s generation fleet. These initiatives support economic development and enable the company to provide affordable and regionally competitive rates for customers, while at the same time advancing the sustainability goals of Evergy and its stakeholders. Campbell and his team are dedicated to ensuring that Evergy provides a rewarding and professional work environment for employees and engages as a trusted partner in the communities Evergy serves.

Kirkland Andrews
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

As executive vice president and chief financial officer for Evergy, Kirk Andrews has management responsibility for all corporate financial functions, including treasury, accounting, planning, tax, capital allocation, and investor relations. Mr. Andrews will also oversee the company’s performance management, corporate development and renewable energy development activities.

Kevin Bryant
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

As executive vice president and chief operating officer for Evergy, Kevin Bryant has management responsibility for all utility operations, including generation operations and generation services, transmission operations, transmission and delivery services, distribution operations and customer operations.

Chuck Caisley
Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Chief Customer Officer

As senior vice president of marketing and public affairs, and chief customer officer, Chuck Caisley leads the energy solutions and public affairs areas with responsibility for the company's small-scale generation projects, energy products and services platform, energy efficiency and demand response portfolio, community and customer strategy and communications, marketing, economic development, governmental affairs and public relations functions. He joined KCP&L in 2007.

Lesley Elwell
Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer

As senior vice president, chief human resources officer and chief diversity officer, Lesley Elwell leads Evergy’s human resources organization, with an emphasis on talent strategy, employee engagement, organizational development and performance management. She has more than 25 years of experience holding human resources and operations leadership roles for large, publicly traded companies in consumer and business-to-business industries. Ms. Elwell previously served as chief people officer at JE Dunn, from 2017-2021, where she led the transformation of JE Dunn’s human resource functions and aligned the talent strategies with its strategic business priorities. Before joining JE Dunn, she served as Vice President People Strategy / HR Business Partner of Walmart Corporation (2016-2017), where she played a key role in the people transformation to rewrite the associate experience, and digitally enable all the workplace, HR, and management practices that impact people on the job. Prior to Walmart Corporation, she served as Vice President HR Business Partner Operations at DIRECTV (2012-2015), and in various roles of increasing responsibility, including as Vice President, with Sprint (1997-2012; 2015-2016). 

Heather Humphrey
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Heather Humphrey leads Evergy’s legal and compliance divisions with responsibility for all litigation, regulatory and corporate legal matters as well as compliance and audit functions.

Charles King
Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer

As senior vice president and chief technology officer, Charles King leads all IT and security functions spanning corporate and operations applications, cyber and physical security, corporate infrastructure including network, data centers, telephony, field communications, enterprise architecture, project management, testing, help desk, and desktop support. Recent responsibility has included corporate enablement of data/analytics and artificial intelligence.

John Bridson
Vice President, Generation

As vice president, generation, John Bridson leads a team overseeing more than 1600 megawatts of wind energy. Additionally, he oversees coal, gas and oil generation, renewable energy and generation reliability. Mr. Bridson is also responsible for overseeing operations of the Wolf Creek nuclear plant.

Steve Busser
Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer

As vice president, Chief Accounting Officer, Steve Busser has a broad background in utility accounting, finance, enterprise risk management, regulatory and support services.

Jason Humphrey
Vice President, Development

As vice president of development, Jason Humphrey leads Evergy’s effort to add generation resources to our fleet and finance our business.

Darrin Ives
Vice President, Regulatory Affairs

As vice president, regulatory affairs, Darrin Ives oversees the strategic development and administration of pricing, rates, rules and regulations, revenue requirements, tariff filings, and customer contracts at federal and Kansas and Missouri levels. He also is responsible for ensuring regulatory affairs supports corporate strategies and objectives and satisfies the complex and rigorous requirements of regulatory rules, policies and processes.

Kara Larson
Vice President, Chief Ethics Officer and Assistant General Counsel

As vice president, chief ethics officer and assistant general counsel, Kara Larson champions Evergy’s commitment to achieving a culture of ethics and compliance including investigations and federal regulatory compliance. She is also responsible for Evergy’s contract, commercial, labor and employment, litigation, and nuclear legal work.

Geoff Ley
Vice President, Corporate Planning and Treasurer

As Vice President, Corporate Planning and Treasurer, Mr. Ley is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and analysis.  

Jeff Martin
Vice President, Customer Operations

As vice president, customer operations, Jeff Martin leads commercial and industrial relations, economic development, and assists with community activities.

Kayla Messamore
Vice President, Strategy and Long-Term Planning

As vice president, strategy and long-term planning, Kayla has management responsibility for corporate strategy, generation resource planning, transmission and distribution planning, operations compliance and operations technology. Since joining Evergy in 2018, Kayla has held various leadership roles in strategy and planning.

Ryan Mulvany
Vice President, Distribution

As vice president, distribution, Ryan Mulvany has management responsibility for distribution operations including system operations, construction and maintenance, contracting services, vegetation management, asset management and analytics.

Cleve Reasoner
Vice President, Chief Nuclear Officer

As vice president and chief nuclear officer of Evergy, Inc. Cleve Reasoner has management responsibility of Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC), a subsidiary of the company, and is responsible for the safe operation of Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station.

As vice president, transmission, Steve Vetsch leads transmission operations, including siting, construction and maintenance, system operations and real estate.
